I’m very proud to have been born in Peru, so my first travel guide has to be about the magical places in this amazing country in South America.
Here is a list of the cities I recommend not missing:
Lima
While in Lima, my tour for my friends includes mainly restaurants, cafes, parks, and museums around Miraflores and Barranco.
Pisac, Cusco
Close to Cusco, there’s one of my favorite cities Pisac. All Sacred Valley of the Incas is amazing and a little lower in altitude while getting used to it for the first days. Machu Picchu is 6 hours by train or 2 days by trail.
Huacachina, Ica
Ica is close to Lima, around 5 hours of driving or 7 by bus. It’s where the Nazca lines are and it’s a must-stop. Huacachina is an oasis close to Nazca Lines (2-3 hours by car) and it’s such an amazing view and adventure day.
Tarapoto, San Martin
Enjoying the Amazonian jungle without being fully in the Amazon. I love nature but nature and especially bugs love me too much. So for me, Tarapoto is the great taste of the Amazonian jungle without being fully attacked by mosquitos.
Arequipa, Arequipa
I’m so impressed by this city in Peru, is clean, has delicious food, and has amazing hotels. Must visit. Colca.
Mancora, Piura
While Lima is the center for fancy restaurants, Piura has the best ceviche, and taste in local small restaurants. It’s also sunnier and have a beachy vibe. I really recommend to go to Mancora at least once.
Nuro, Tumbes
While in Mancora you can take a ride to go to Tumbes and see the sea turtles. It’s worth it.
Huascaran, Ancash
Huascaran
Lago Titicaca, Puno
Lake Titicaca is an amazing
There are amazing regions in a diverse country like Peru and each region deserves its own guide. So let me take some time but I’ll get there.
